jazz Through the ages

Jazz Appreciation Talk – A Brief History of Jazz, takes you on a journey through the captivating evolution of jazz, from its roots in New Orleans to its vibrant global presence today. Presented by the Jazz Association (Singapore), this session explores how jazz has influenced modern Chinese culture, from the lively sounds of the 1920s to the Latin-inspired mambos of the 1960s and 1970s, and how it continues to shape contemporary Chinese pop music. Led by Tan Weixiang (JASS Deputy Music Director), together with his jazz ensemble, this interactive talk features live music demonstrations that bring jazz history to life.
