Lion City Jazz Festival
Our flagship initiative
The Lion City Jazz Festival is JASS’s flagship programme — and a cornerstone of its mission. What began as a youth-focused initiative has grown into Singapore’s only dedicated jazz festival, combining:
International mentorship
Local talent development
Public concerts and outreach
Cross-cultural musical dialogue
Each edition reflects JASS’s belief that jazz education and performance are inseparable.
Why Jazz Matters
More than music
Jazz teaches listening, collaboration, adaptability, and expression — values that extend far beyond the stage. Through jazz, JASS seeks to:
Encourage creative thinking
Build confidence and communication
Foster respect across cultures and generations
These values guide every programme we produce.
